Lawrence has been practicing law in the East Tennessee region for over 40 years focusing in the areas of real estate and banking transactional work. He has represented a number of banking institutions as well as many clients who have been with him for a number of years. He has served as the Delinquent Tax Attorney for the City of Johnson City, Town of Jonesborough, and Washington County, Tennessee for over 20 years. He is the Board attorney for Washington County Emergency Communications District and the Washington County/Johnson City Emergency Medical Services having served in those roles for over 20 years. Lawrence graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1979 with a degree in political science and biology. He then graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law in 1982. He is married to Chouree’ Blevins-Counts and attends Boones Creek Christian Church. Audrey began her career with the Firm in 2005. She is the Firm Administrator and Paralegal. Audrey manages the collection of delinquent property taxes for the City of Johnson City, Town of Jonesborough, and Washington County, Tennessee. She coordinates all litigation for Lawrence F. Counts, Attorney-at Law. Audrey has extensive experience in residential and commercial real estate matters, estate planning, business and corporate law and general sessions court civil matters. She also works with the Washington County Emergency Communications District and Washington County/Johnson City EMS. Audrey resides in the Sulphur Springs Community on her family farm with her husband, Eddie, and their two children, Madison and Wyatt. They are members of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. Outside of work, she greatly enjoys traveling, gardening, lake days, family beach vacations, and spending much time with her family and friends.

Sam is the Firm’s Senior Processor and Closer. Sam is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and brings an excess of 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Sam contributes a considerable amount of knowledge and skills to the Firm. He currently serves as an active member of Southwestern Baptist Church, Tennessee Baptist Convention, Holston Baptist Association, and Gideons International. He previously served on committees for East Tennessee State University’s Bill Gatton School of Pharmacy, and the Washington County, Tennessee United Way. Sam resides in the Boones Creek community with his wife, Lesa, has two children and one grandchild. Sam’s hobbies include traveling, spending time with family, and a quiet evening at home.

Bethany has been with the Firm since 2020. She began her journey with us as our receptionist and is now one of our closing processors. She works closely with lenders, agents, and clients to ensure a smooth closing process. Bethany’s goal is to deliver outstanding customer service and is always willing to lend a helping hand. Outside of the office, Bethany loves to spend time with her family, making memories, cooking, and traveling.

Megan is the Firm’s Pre-Closing Coordinator. Megan works simultaneously with real estate agents and lenders to provide necessary communication and transaction information to get everything to the closing table as smoothly as possible. She is a vital part of the closing process. She is a Tennessee Notary Public and attended Northeast State for Business Management and Office Technologies. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling, camping, and being on the lake. She resides in the Gray Community with her husband and 3 corgis.

Legal Assistant

Christian is the Firm’s Legal Assistant. Christian helps prepare legal documents such as deeds, contracts, and other important closing documents. Christian assists our paralegal with the preparation of the delinquent tax sale. She is also a licensed notary. Christian and her husband have three children. They live in the Jonesborough community on their family farm. After work, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and shopping.
